The Boruto manga series is heading in an exciting direction and the entire fanbase is excited to see the fate of certain characters. There is one character who got sidelined despite being introduced after a long time, he is none other than Code. He was being hyped up as the antagonist who would not only go toe to toe with Boruto but also potentially beat him. This was because he had his limiters removed by Amado.
However, he was sidelined almost immediately since the protagonist outclassed him with little to no effort. While it might seem like there’s nothing left for Code in the story, he could potentially get a shot at redemption. A fan theory deliberates on the possibility of Code getting a shot at redemption through an unlikely alliance with the protagonist.

Boruto fan theory explores the possibility of Code receiving a shot at redemption
Based on how things are right now, Code is an extremely tough spot. The pseudo-Ten-Tailed Beast has now attained consciousness by sealing certain shinobis. These entities call themselves the God Tree or Shinju and are far more powerful than Code. Given the current progression, it seems like the Shinju will be defeated when the protagonist reveals his true power.
Either way, Code will not emerge victorious in this case. Furthermore, this is the first time Code’s life is in danger and he realizes the same. So far, he was confident in his abilities. But he was given a reality check by the likes of Boruto and Eida, showing just how far behind he is, compared to other characters.
This is where the fan theory comes in. If the character gets a shot at redemption, he might help Boruto against the Shinju. Code could intervene at the very last moment and save the protagonist. Following this, the two could come to a mutual agreement. Code could shit sides and fight on the protagonist’s side for the remainder of the series. Code has no other option but to appeal to Naruto’s son as the series progresses.
This is the only way Code could potentially live now that his limiters are removed and he has reached his full potential. There is no room for growth which is why he might act out of desperation. Code’s intervention could not only help the protagonist but could save his own life as well.
Conclusion
This theory gives a character like Code a shot at redemption. As such, the character has very little to offer and Masashi Kishimoto’s treatment is proof enough. However, if the writers decide to give Code a chance to prove himself in this manga, then the story could take this route. While this is an interesting theory, the likelihood of this happening is slim to none.
Code isn’t particularly an interesting character and stronger antagonists have been introduced. Therefore, he serves no purpose in the overall story unless there is a deeper connection. If this is the case, then Code might just receive a shot at redemption during the course of the Two Blue Vortex series.
