Following the unveiling of two kaiju previously, Kadokawa revealed the visual of the third kaiju, Zigra, set to feature in the Gamera -Rebirth- anime. Zigra will join Gyaos, Jiger, and two other kaiju in fighting Gamera in the upcoming anime.

Gamera was first introduced in 1965 with its debut film Gamera the Giant Monster, after which it released 12 other films, the latest one being in 2006. Following that, Kadokawa announced its decision to make an anime for the same, which has been titled Gamera -Rebirth-.

Gamera -Rebirth- anime recently revealed Zigra visual

As revealed by Kadokawa through its teasers, Gamera -Rebirth- anime is set to feature Gamera fighting five kaiju in the upcoming anime. Out of these five kaiju, two of them - Gyaos and Jiger - had been previously revealed.

Now, Kadokawa has revealed the third kaiju named Zigra, which is an underwater monster in the series. As per the information revealed by the anime, Zigra is a monster that can move at super high speed underwater and tests Gamera's abilities while fighting an aquatic monster.

Fans can expect the final two kaiju to be revealed sometime in the coming months, possibly protecting the anime's release to be sometime in the Fall 2023 anime season. Gamera -Rebirth- is set to release six episodes and will be available to watch globally on Netflix.

How fans reacted to Zigra's reveal for the anime

Fans were happy to learn that Zigra is set to appear in the anime. They had previously seen Zigra years ago, and possibly seeing it again in its new design this year was quite surprising for several kaiju fans. That being said, fans weren't expecting Zigra to make the cut and started to wonder which two kaiju would join the roster next. Fans speculate that they could be Legion, Barugon, or Iris.

Fans of the series were also astonished to see the kaiju's glow-up as the last time Zigra was seen on television, its design was quite different and appeared to be small. In comparison to that, Zigra of the Gamera -Rebirth- anime has now become huge and looks intimidating compared to the one in the costume fans witnessed years ago.

However, considering how the design had been changed significantly, fans could not stop themselves from asking what fish was Zigra based on. The kaiju used to resemble a goblin shark, but with the new design, fans feel like it has been designed to look similar to a stingray.
