Despite Dragon Ball Z having released its last episode back in 1996, fans of the franchise are still having debates about Majin Buu's power-scaling. When one fan put up a poll on X (formerly known as Twitter) asking if Buuhan could have fended off the Spirit Bomb, the votes suggested a 50-50 chance for the same. However, this did not sit well with some fans.

Considering that the Spirit Bomb pulverized Kid Buu, many Dragon Ball Z fans believed that Buuhan should also not be able to fend off the attack because, as per them, Kid Buu was stronger than Buuhan. This led to a war between the fans on X as they argued over who was the stronger Majin Buu.

Dragon Ball Z fans disagree over the power-scaling of Majin Buu forms

One Dragon Ball Z fan on X, @DokkanGod7_, claimed that Kid Buu was stronger than both Super Saiyans 3 and 2 Goku (s), who was himself stronger than Buuhan.

However, the majority of fans did not agree with this theory. Buuhan was the Majin Buu form, which was created after Super Buu absorbed Piccolo, Gotenks, and Mystic Gohan, easily making him the strongest Majin Buu. Meanwhile, Kid Buu was Majin Buu's original form, which was devoid of all control and happened to be a killing machine.

However, some statements in the anime and manga seemingly forced fans to believe otherwise.

@DokkanGod7_ shared various pieces of evidence that supported his statements. The anime described Kid Buu as the strongest Majin Buu. Additionally, Akira Toriyama himself liked to have the strongest transformations of a villain look small in stature, evident from Frieza's final form as well.

However, from the context available in the Dragon Ball Z anime, it seems like Buuhan was the strongest Majin Buu.

Many fans were certain that @DokkanGod7_ and others hadn't actually watched the Dragon Ball Z anime. If one had watched the anime, it would be evident that Goku Super Saiyan 3 had trouble fighting Super Buu in both his forms - Buutenks and Buuhan. That is exactly why he wanted to fuse with Gohan and later Vegeta, using the Potara earrings.

Later, when Goku and Vegeta managed to separate Piccolo, Gohan, Goten, and Trunks from Super Buu, Buu's strength decreased exponentially. Even after that, Goku was certain that Super Buu would manage to kill them both instantly.

However, when it came to Kid Buu, Goku and Vegeta were willing to take the challenge and fought the villain individually, without even relying on team-ups or fusion. The fight made it quite evident that Kid Buu was stronger than Super Saiyan 3 Goku. However, the Saiyan was still able to fight him alone, which was quite unlike what happened when Buuhan was still around.

Not just Goku but also Vegeta was able to fight Kid Buu alone, who, at the time, was only able to transform into a Super Saiyan 2 at full power. This just proves that Kid Buu was significantly weaker than Buuhan.

The only true difference that made Kid Buu look stronger than Buuhan was that the former was more dangerous. Majin Buu was quite mindless at the beginning. However, after he absorbed the Grand Supreme Kai and became "Good Buu," he became mindful and smart.

Hence, removing "Good Buu" from Super Buu made him mindless and weaker, given the absence of the Grand Supreme Kai's powers that Majin Buu had attained. This proves that Buuhan was stronger than Kid Buu.
