Many characters appear in the anime, but here is a list of the characters who had major to minor roles in the first season of Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead. There are six main characters in the first season of the series.
Main Characters
1. Akira Tendo
Akira is the protagonist of the anime series. He was a former marketing firm employee who worked in a toxic environment that made his life miserable. After the zombie apocalypse, he was free to do whatever he wanted, and so he wrote down a bucket list of things he wanted to do before turning into a zombie.
2. Shizuka Mikazuki:
Shizuka is the main female protagonist who was forced by her father to be a perfect woman, while her passion was to become a vet because she loved dogs. She still had to follow her father's decision and become an accountant. When she met Akira, her views changed, and she grew close to him.
3. Kenichiro Ryuzaki:
Kenichiro is Akira's best friend and the former Ruby teammate on the college team. Akira saved him when he was stuck in a hotel alongside a zombie, and after Akira told him about his goal, Kenichiro joined him, and together, they wrote their bucket lists.
4. Beatrix Amerhauser
She is a German woman who has been in love with the Japanese culture since childhood, which is why she learned Japanese and came to Japan for a tour after graduating from college. While on tour, the zombie apocalypse happened, leaving her stuck in Japan, but then she met Akira Tendo, Kenichiro and Shizuka who saved her from the zombies. She then joined their group.
Other main characters appearing in the second season are Takeru Minakata and Izuna Tokage, who also joined Akira's group. Teruo and Akiko Tendou are the parents of Akira Tendou.
Antagonists
1. Gonzou Kosugi:
Gozou is Akira's former company team leader. He used to exploit everyone in the company and bully them too, especially Akira. Later in the anime series, he once again appeared when Akira’s group's RV got a puncture. He tries to force Akira to work under him again, but Shizuka reminds Akira of his bucket list. Later, Gozou is bitten by a zombie.
2. Kanta Higurashi
He is the main antagonist of the anime series, and he wants to kill Akira because he is jealous of his extroverted behavior. In the final episode of the first season, he tries to kill Akira's father, but Akira saves him. However, when Kanta tells him that he wants to have friends, Akira sympathises with him. In the end, to save Akira from zombies, Kanta lures the zombies away and runs into the river.
Other antagonists in the anime are Naoki Atenbou and Touko Kanbayashi. The other supporting characters of the series are Saori Ohtori, Yukari, Masaru Kumano, Nagisa Kaneshiro, Kongouji Hikoemon, and Anju.
