The Upper Rank 3 demon, Akaza gained huge popularity with his explosive entry in the Demon Slayer’s Mugen Train Arc. The intense clash between Kyojuro Rengoku and Akaza became one of the most enthralling fights in the history of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. Dishearteningly, the battle ended with Kyojuro’s death, which left the fans heartbroken.

Tanjiro became agitated with Akaza fleeing the spot and is determined to kill him with his own blade. Akaza was last seen in the post-credits of Entertainment District Arc’s finale. With rambunctious anticipation, fans await to see Tanjiro’s retribution, by fighting face to face with Akaza.

Will Tanjiro and Akaza cross paths in Season 3 of Demon Slayer?

Entertainment District’s finale marked the end of the Upper Rank 6 Demons and also the retirement of Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui. In the post-credits of the finale, Akaza was summoned by Muzan to the Infinity castle. This raised the level of excitement for fans, who have been eagerly awaiting his arrival on the screen again.

His appearance also spiked questions about his return in the next installment of Demon Slayer and whether he will go against Tanjiro and finish what he started. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait until Infinity Castle Arc to see Tanjiro go against Akaza.

However, Muzan's meeting with Upper-Ranks has not started yet and it's possible that Akaza will be seen in the first episode of Demon Slayer's Season 3. As it's been so many years since Demon Slayers managed to kill an Upper Rank Demon, Muzan is infuriated, which is why the meeting is going to be conducted.

Meanwhile, fans will see Tanjiro teaming up with Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito as well as Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji, which will take place in the Swordsmith Village.

Tanjiro is heading to find Haganezuka to repair his sword, which constantly breaks amidst the fights. Season 3 will also feature two Upper-Rank Demons: Hantengu, the Upper-Rank 4 and Gyokko, Upper-Rank 5.

The production company, Ufotable, has not yet announced the release of Season 3. However, as per speculations, it might drop around the Fall of 2023. Ufotable has not announced the number of episodes in the new season as well.
