Detroit Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera is on his farewell tour as the veteran is retiring after the 2023 season. Cabrera will have played all 21 seasons all in a Tigers uniform when it is all said and done.

Given this is his last season, everyone wants to come out and show their support. This included three Detroit sports legends who attended the game on Thursday: Nicklas Lidström, Calvin Johnson Jr., and Ben Wallace.

Not many athletes have meant more to Detroit sports than these four. Lidström played 20 seasons for the Detroit Red Wings. Calvin Johnson Jr. played nine seasons for the Detroit Lions as a wide receiver, where he was nearly unguardable. Ben Wallace played nine seasons for the Detroit Pistons and was an All-Star nearly his entire time there.

It's not often to find this variety of superstar athletes all in the same building. There are a lot of Detroit fans who have spent a good portion of their lives watching these athletes, so seeing them all together is incredible.

Some Detroit Tigers fans wished they were in attendance. The four superstars will likely never be in the same building together again.

It was only right for Miguel Cabrera to join Lidström, Johnson Jr., and Wallace. He'll soon be a legend, just like them, when the season ends.

Few baseball players mean as much to their team as Miguel Cabrera does to the Detroit Tigers. An athlete of any sport spending 21 seasons with a single team is almost unheard of now.

Cabrera is a member of three prestigious baseball clubs: 3,000 hits, 500 home runs, and 600 doubles. It's an honor to be a member of any of these three, let alone all of them. Baseball fans are unlikely to see another player reach the 3,000-hit mark for quite some time.

He's made a living at the plate. The Chicago White Sox, Minnesota Twins, and Cleveland Guardians are likely excited that their pitching staff won't have to face this legend after the season. He terrorized the American League Central pitchers.

A few baseball players have had the career that Cabrera has had. He will surely be missed in Detroit when the season ends.
