With the fantasy baseball playoffs creeping ever closer (perhaps even starting for some), it's important to keep an eye on which player's stocks are on the rise and which are falling. At this point of the season, fantasy managers may need to make some difficult decisions about some underperforming stars or those that are worthy of adding if they are available.
One of the most difficult moments in a fantasy baseball season is cutting ties with a player you may have spent on. Sometimes, cutting or adding a player at the right time can be the difference between a winning or losing season.
Fantasy baseball players' whose stocks are rising

Jackson Merrill
The San Diego Padres might have a star on their hands when it comes to Jackson Merrill. The rookie outfielder continues to prove why the Friars selected him in the first round of the 2021 MLB draft. Although Merrill is widely owned in fantasy baseball leagues, he has really been rewarding his managers lately with an impressive .361 batting average and four home runs in his last 10 games.
Jackson Chourio
Call me Johnny Cash because I'm going to Jackson yet again, this time it is Jackson Chourio of the Milwaukee Brewers. Like Jackson Merrill, Chourio has been turning it on at the plate lately, improving his numbers across the board and allowing fantasy managers to enjoy spending up on him in their drafts.

Garrett Crochet
Garrett Crochet's 2024 fantasy season can best be defined as a roller coaster. After rewarding managers who drafted later in drafts to those who picked him up early, Crochet was arguably the best pitcher in fantasy for a long stretch.
Unfortunately for everyone, that has come crashing down as the White Sox pitcher's innings have been greatly reduced, making him barely rosterable at this point.
Lane Thomas
The trade that sent Lane Thomas to the Cleveland Guardians has not worked out as well as fantasy managers (myself included) had hoped. Although there is still time before the end of the season for him to turn things around with his new club, it hasn't been a raving success so far. Since joining the Guardians, Thomas has posted a dismal .112 batting average with no home runs or RBIs.
