Shohei Ohtani is a superstar. The Japanese sensation is a pitcher, designated hitter, and outfielder for the Los Angeles Angels.

On Tuesday in Miami, Shohei Ohtani put on a show for Japan at the 2023 World Baseball Classic. He protected a one-run lead in the ninth inning of a 3-2 victory, securing his nation an unprecedented third WBC championship.

He posed for a photo with Alexander Rodriguez, a former star shortstop and third baseman with the New York Yankees. Rodriguez captioned the photo, describing Ohtani as the "modern day Babe Ruth."

Shohei Ohtani's ability as a pitcher and a bat led to a victory for Japan and made the World Baseball Classic a must-watch event. Ohtani was interviewed by Alex Rodriguez and David Ortiz after his outstanding performances in the World Baseball Classic championship game.

Ohtani was questioned about the match and several baseball-related topics. Who Ohtani regarded as his favorite American athlete as a child was one such query. Rodriguez and Ortiz were mentioned in Ohtani's answer, which he delivered through his interpreter.

Shohei Ohtani, MLB’s Modern- Day Babe Ruth

Ohtani has certainly earned the moniker "Japanese Babe Ruth.” Former New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez believes Ohtani is a more complete player than Babe Ruth.

Alex Rodriguez, a former MLB player for the New York Yankees, commented on Ohtani, saying:

"He's the modern-day Bambino and yet even Babe Ruth wasn't stealing 20-plus bases, hitting 40-plus homers and throwing 100 miles per hour in the same season."

Some of the best athletes in the world have become admirers of the 26-year-old.

On and off the field, in America and throughout the world, Ohtani is a darling of fans. His skills are extraordinary. Adding to this is his modesty. Each of Ohtani's actions makes the news in Japan, where his successes are a major source of pride for the country.

He won the American League MVP Award unanimously in 2021 and was chosen for the All-Star team as a pitcher and hitter. As a result, Shohei Ohtani has been able to make his mark on baseball history.
