Shohei Ohtani is a Japanese professional baseball player. He was born on 5 July 1994 in Mizusawa, Iwate, Japan. Ohtani is also famously known by his epithet ‘Shotime’ and ‘The Unicorn’.


He was drafted into the Nippon Professional Baseball in 2013 and played for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters. He moved on to play in the Major Leagues Baseball in 2018 and plays for the Los Angeles Angels. Ohtani is a rare two-way player which means that he can both pitch and bat.
