MLB fans overjoyed at Houston Astros' poor start to the 2023 season: "Buzzers not working?"

The Houston Astros have reached the ALCS (or better) for six straight seasons and won two World Series titles during that stretch. They have established themselves as the team to beat in the American League. However, they have gotten off to a slow start in 2023.

The Astros find themselves tied for last place in the American League West after a 2-4 start to the season. Their pitchers have conceded 19 runs over the past three games and 29 total runs in six games.

The fact that the Houston Astros are on the verge of being swept by the Detroit Tigers is cause for concern. The Tigers won just 66 games last year.

The club has failed to win a series this year. They split the opening series 2-2 with the Chicago White Sox.

MLB fans turned to Twitter to react to the Astros losing four of their first six games. Fans around the country are taking great joy after their sluggish start to the season.

It may be a little too early to count the Astros out. Despite an underwhelming start to the year, they could still go on to win 100 games.

Manager Dusty Baker seemed at a loss when asked about the Houston Astros' start:

"Right now, not much is going good for us," he said.

The organization started its season without two of last year's star players. 2022 American League Cy Young winner Justin Verlander chose to sign with the New York Mets. Eight-time All-Star and 2017 American League MVP Jose Altuve is currently on the sidelines due to a fractured thumb.

Nevertheless, there is still plenty of talent in the lineup and the Astros will need to rebound quickly. After their final game versus Detroit, they begin a six-game road stretch against the Minnesota Twins and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
