Several teams across the MLB have released positive injury updates regarding the health of some of their sidelined players. Although it is a relatively quite day on the injury front, the San Francisco Giants are expected to have their biggest offseason signing return this week. Here's a look at today's MLB injury updates.
MLB Injury Updates for July 8
Blake Snell

Blake Snell headlines today's injury updates from across the league. It has been a disastrous season for the San Francisco Giants starter, however, he will have the opportunity to right the ship sooner rather than later. It is expected that Snell will be activated from the IL on Tuesday and will start against the Toronto Blue Jays that day as well.
Chris Paddack
The Minnesota Twins announced a series of roster moves on Monday. The club activated veteran pitcher Chris Paddack from the IL, while also optioning Josh Winder to Triple-A in a corresponding move. This is a major injury update for the Twins as Paddack is slated to rejoin the team's pitching rotation and is set to face the Chicago White Sox on Monday night.

Lars Nootbaar
The St. Louis Cardinals have announced that they have officially activated star outfielder Lars Nootbaar from the 10-day IL on Monday. The 26-year-old has been out of action for roughly six weeks with an oblique injury. He is expected to take over as the Cardinals' everyday right fielder moving forward.
Jake Bird
The first Colorado Rockies reliever to appear on this list, Jake Bird has reportedly resumed a throwing program this past Friday. Bird has been on the 15-day IL since the middle of June after suffering a groin injury in an appearance against the Washington Nationals. The Rockies have not given a potential timeline for Bird's return to the MLB squad.
Tyler Mahle
MLB insider Jeff Wilson has reported that Texas Rangers starting pitcher Tyler Mahle is set to continue his minor league rehab assignment on Tuesday. Mahle will start for Triple-A Round Rock and will only throw two innings of work. Although the move from Double-A to Triple-A has been made regarding potential poor weather affecting Tuesday's game in Frisco, it is a positive injury update nonetheless.
