One of the most obvious buyers on the trade market, it would be completely surprising if the New York Yankees sat idly by as the deadline passed. The team has been linked to a number of the top names rumored to be available on the market, including Luis Robert Jr. and Mason Miller.

#2. Baltimore Orioles - Buyers

Another AL East club that will undoubtedly be buyers this summer is the Baltimore Orioles. The O's find themselves atop the division and are a legitimate threat to win the World Series this season. It's unclear who the team will be targeting, however, starting pitching will likely be one of the areas that the club will be looking to upgrade.

#3. Boston Red Sox - Buyers

The Boston Red Sox will be one of the more interesting teams to keep an eye on this summer. The team currently ranks third in the AL East, however, they could find themselves in contention for a Wild Card spot. This is leading many to believe that the team could look to add a few players before the deadline.

#4. Tampa Bay Rays - Sellers

It has not been the season that the Tampa Bay Rays have envisioned, while there is still time, it appears that reaching the postseason could be a tall task. The fact that the team has already traded veteran pitcher Aaron Civale suggests that this might be a trend that will continue toward the trade deadline.

#5. Toronto Blue Jays - Sellers

Speaking of teams whose season has not gone according to plan, the 2024 Toronto Blue Jays have been a disaster. The team continues to slide and it feels like a matter of time before the team decides to start trading away some of their expiring talent. Players such as Bo Bichette, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and George Springer have been mentioned in trade rumors all season.
