Jasson Dominguez is going to be a non-roster invitee for Spring Training with the New York Yankees fans. Their number two prospect has spent most of his time in the lower minor leagues but the Yankees are ready to see him in semi-MLB action. Dominguez is likely not ready to make the jump from the minors to the majors as he's not even spent that much time in AA. However, with a prospect this talented, it never hurts to see if they can do it. One Yankees Twitter account posed the question of whether or not the team would use Dominguez in left field or not given that the other two positions are solid with Aaron Judge and Harrison Bader. Fireside Yankees@FiresideYankeesDo you think Dominguez is ready for the big league? #RepBX74233Do you think Dominguez is ready for the big league? #RepBX https://t.co/fcBTk82iMBFans are split. Some believe the 20-year-old prospect isn't ready to contribute at the MLB level. Others believe there's a chance he can play with the Yankees since other top prospects like Mike Trout or Bryce Harper made their debuts at very young ages. The team needs an outfielder but it doesn't look like the minor leagues will produce one for them for the next year or two. Who will play left field for the New York Yankees? The reason so many New York Yankees fans believe Jasson Dominguez should get a shot in the majors is because the team desperately needs a left fielder. They have Aaron Hicks, who's been injured and struggled mightily last season. Oswaldo Cabrera could play there, but he's a utility player. Will Oswaldo Cabrera play left field for the New York Yankees? If Dominguez tears up Spring Training, then the Yankees might consider him. If not, and even if he does, it's more likely they roll with Hicks to start the year. If Hicks can return to form, then it's not a problem. If he can't, then expect Cabrera to take over. Cabrera is also a switch-hitter and plays excellent defense in the outfield. The Yankees looked into an outfielder via free agency and trades, but were unable to find another one. That leaves them without many good options for 2023.
