New York Yankees fans react to Josh Donaldson crushing a no-doubt home run: "Is he back?" "Hopefully carries this into the season"

One New York Yankees player that is looking to have a bounce-back year is Josh Donaldson. He finished the season with a .222 batting average last season, tying a career low.

He's recently changed his batting stance a bit, which seems to have done him justice. He hit two home runs on Tuesday and followed that up with a monster home run on Saturday.

He adjusted his stance to help simplify his approach. His leg-kick is much shorter than last year's, allowing him to get to the ball faster.

This is a promising sign as we approach Opening Day. This year, Donaldson is expected to see the majority of the at-bats at third base. If they want to compete in the American League East, they'll need him to carry this offensive surge into the season.

"Is he back?" one fan tweeted.
"Hopefully carries this into the season" tweeted another fan.

New York Yankees fans couldn't be happier with what looks to be an improved Josh Donaldson. They were starting to get nervous that he had lost it at the plate.

It will be interesting to see the type of season Donaldson has. If he carries this power into the regular season, then watch out. The Yankees could be dangerous.

The New York Yankees need to get rid of the injury bug

While the New York Yankees have a good spring, it hasn't come without their setbacks. They're starting to compile a rather long injury list.

The latest injury comes in the form of starting pitching. Manager Aaron Boone announced that Luis Severino strained his lat. Last season, Severino had problems with a lat strain that caused him to miss two months of the season.

Clarke Schmidt is expected to take the place of the injured Severino. Clarke appeared in 29 games last season. He is used both as a starter and reliever, so he should fare well as he already has experience.

Severino is the Yankees' latest pitcher to suffer an injury. Frankie Montas had shoulder surgery earlier this spring. There is no timetable for his return, and some believe he will miss the entire season.

Another pitcher on the IL is Carlos Rodon, who's dealing with a forearm strain. He took two weeks off from throwing and is working his way back before Opening Day.
