After a flyout in the fourth inning of Game 2 of the National League Championship series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets, Will Smith’s batting average dropped below .100, sinking to .095.

Despite being a two-time All-Star and a key player for the Dodgers, Smith’s postseason performance has been underwhelming, especially when compared to his regular season stats, where he recently posted a .248 average.

MLB fans were quick to react on social media, with many poking fun at Smith’s sudden drop in form:

"Doesn’t surprise me. He‘s spent much of his career in acting." - Joked one fan referencing actor Will Smith.
"Bench him." - Added another fan.
"Will Smith’s batting average is so low, even his shadow is starting to question its own existence!" another fan added.

This dramatic slump has raised eyebrows, especially given Smith’s history of clutch performances in crucial games. During the 2024 National League Division Series, Smith contributed a pivotal two-run home run in Game 4 against the San Diego Padres, helping the Dodgers stay alive in the series, eventually taking them in Game 5.

However, his playoff game as a whole has been inconsistent, causing fans concerns and frustration as the Dodgers aim for a spot in the World Series.

"Bro is pulling an Aaron Judge." - Joked another fan.
"Tough stretch for Smith. Hopefully, he can turn it around in the upcoming games!" - Posted one hopeful fan.
"Will Smith needs to step up him game ASAP," one fan said.

The NLCS between the Dodgers and Mets are tied at 1-1.

The New York Mets took Game 2 of the ALCS against the Dodgers, rebounding from a Game 1 shutout loss (9-0) and securing a 7-3 victory. The Mets jumped out to an early lead, scoring six runs in the first two innings. A leadoff home run by Francisco Lindor in the first inning and a second-inning grand slam by Mark Vientos were key moments.

Despite a mid-game push by the Dodgers, including a solo home run by Max Muncy, the Mets’ early dominance held strong. Closer Edwin Diaz finished the game by striking out three consecutive batters, sending an even series to New York for Game 3 on Wednesday.
