Chris 'mad dog' Russo's co-host Alanna Rizzo takes a shot at Radio Hall of Famer: "I'm expecting to have to host the show tomorrow by myself"

The Arizona Diamondbacks defeated the Philadelphia Phillies and won Games 6 and 7 of the NLCS. This was part of a series in which they displayed outstanding resiliency, clutch hitting, and pitching, primarily from the bullpen.

Chris "Mad Dog" Russo, a sports radio host from the United States, declared that he would retire at the very moment if the Arizona Diamondbacks completed their comeback and progressed to the World Series to face the Texas Rangers. He was rooting for the Diamondbacks to lose because he believed that his job was "on the line."

Alanna Rizzo, an American sports reporter who also co-hosts the program "Turn up the Heat with Mad Dog" alongside Russo, playfully ribbed his announcement that he was retiring by joking that she might have to run the program by herself.

The Diamondbacks beat the Phillies in Game 7 of the NLCS

The Diamondbacks advanced to the World Series for the first time since 2001 by defeating the Phillies 4-2 in Game 7 of the National League Championship Series at Citizens Bank Park. The World Series will start on Friday night in Arlington, Texas, with Arizona taking against the Rangers.

The Diamondbacks, who almost missed out on a postseason spot as the last wild card from the National League, finished their comeback from a 0-2 deficit in the NLCS by grabbing early leads in Games 6 and 7, winning the next two games in Philadelphia. The Diamondbacks (84 wins) are only the third team in the 162-game era to make it to the World Series with less than 84 regular-season victories.
