Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts hasn't taken well to San Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado's gesture during Game 2 of the ALDS on Sunday. Amidst the game, Manny Machado threw the baseball at the Dodgers dugout, but Roberts believed it was intended to hurt him.

"It was unsettling," Roberts said. "Obviously I have a relationship with Manny from years past. There was intent behind it. It didn't almost hit me because there was a net. And that was very bothersome. If it was intended at me, I would be very -- it's pretty disrespectful."

The Dodgers even sent the video to Major League Baseball, where they asked them to review the footage and assign a valid punishment for Machado's action. However, the fans are astounded and call it an overreaction on the Dodgers' end, since Machado's action didn't really hurt anybody and it's all just a theory.

Some other fans also shared the same sentiments about the outrage of the Dodgers for Manny Machado.

"Almost took his head off with that laser!" One fan remarked.
"Lmao throwing the ball out of play. Dodgers trying to play the victim to deflect their trashy and classless fans" one fan wrote.
"Horrible look for Roberts and the Dodgers… that ball slowly bounced into the dugout," one fan mentioned.

"Big question, did any other inning he toss the ball that way instead towards his own dugout or was that the only time," one fan asked.

Manny Machado talks about his intentions toward Dave Roberts

Dave Roberts didn't realize what happened during the game, so he saw the footage of Machado throwing the baseball later. Roberts felt disrespected because he had worked alongside Machado in the past and he couldn't believe he'd intend to do something like this to him.

Manny Machado, however, stated in the interview that he never really put a lot of thought behind that action, since he does this in all of his games and throws baseball in both dugouts. Even many Padres fans came in the defense of Machado, and he could be seen doing the same thing in the other games as well.

"I spoke about this last night after the game," Machado told Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune on Monday. "I've already turned the page, and I'm just looking forward to playing in front of our fans tomorrow and preparing for another tough battle against a very good team."

So, it's to be seen if Machado gets any penalty for the behavior or not, since the Dodgers are trying to hold him responsible for his actions.
