Jeter, known for his stoic demeanor on the field, revealed that Ortiz’s friendly approach towards all rivals used to irritate him during their numerous encounters. Jokingly he admitted:

"David Ortiz nevergot pitched inside [...] He used to irritate me so much."

The revelation adds an interesting layer to the historical rivalry between the Yankees and the Red Sox.
