Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez is undoubtedly one of the top performers in the MLB. The 32-year-old had an excellent campaign in 2024, falling just short of a 40-40 season. However, his achievements hardly garnered the attention they deserved in the nationwide media.

Representing a small-market team from the Midwest naturally means there are fewer eyeballs on Jose Ramirez than in New York or Los Angeles. Avid baseball fans understand that Ramirez is one of the most consistent batters in the game who can hit for both average and power. He is deceptively fast on the basepaths, as well as a solid defender at the hot corner.

He batted .279/.335/.537 during the regular season with 118 RBIs and an OPS+ of 143. He also had 41 stolen bases along with 80 extra-base hits with 39 doubles and 39 home runs.

MLB fans responded to a post shared by MLB on Instagram, questioning why Jose Ramirez fails to get the recognition he merits despite being one of the finest all-round players of his era.

"I still don't understand why Juan Soto deserves more money than this guy," one fan commented.

"Unbeliveably underrated player," said another fan.

"He's been as consistent as anyone in the game for 8 straight years," another fan wrote.

These are some of the other comments that were posted on Instagram.

"It can be easy for a player to underrrated when he is playing for the Guardians," a fan noted.
"Homer and a double shy of 40/40/40 season," one fan said.
"Got robbed of the 40-40 because of the rain," another fan moaned.

Ramirez finished fifth in the 2024 American League MVP voting ballots besides winning his fifth Silver Slugger award at third base.

This year, Jose Ramirez had a chance to become the seventh player in MLB history to complete a 40-40 campaign. He came extremely close to matching Alfonso Soriano's unique feat of hitting 40 doubles and 40 home runs along with 40 steals in a single campaign.

However, the Dominican was denied the opportunity to emulate his compatriot as the Guardians played one fewer game this season and wrapped up their campaign at 161 games.

Their final game of the regular season against the Houston Astros washed out due to rain, and the contest was abandoned as both teams had already secured their playoff berths.
