After being sidelined in the offseason due to his shoulder surgery, Clayton Kershaw has landed on the injury list due to a bone spur in his left big toe. Kershaw has only made seven starts this season, but this time, the expected time of Kershaw's return isn't known, as per Dodgers' president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman.

The Dodgers are constantly trying to find a way to make Kershaw's situation playable. Manager Dave Roberts revealed that the starting pitcher has been suffering from a bone spur for quite some time now. They're not considering surgery for him now, but they want Kershaw to get on the field soon.

Kershaw himself is taking the steps to get back on the field. He was spotted practicing his pitches with his left leg folded on a chair. However, fans weren't impressed by this act and wrote how the pitcher should consider retirement at this point.

"It was a known issue but it was not taken care of in the off season. Things that make you say huh....Just retire please," one fan remarked.

Some other fans also shared a similar sentiment about Kershaw's condition.

"Just retire with some dignity will ya. Your career is done… And for goodness sakes Dodgers, just sign Trevor Bauer," one fan wrote.
"Delusional, bro is done for good," one fan mentioned.
"Rare bone spur in toe ? Who said it was rare? Only really about 5 types of spurs in the area," one fan opined.

"How’s this going to work on the mound?" one fan asked.

Dodgers manager gives details on Clayton Kershaw's injury

Clayton Kershaw was pulled mid-game against the Arizona Diamondbacks after Corbin Carroll hit him for a solo homer. Right before that, in the first inning of the game, Dave Roberts said that Kershaw came to him and told him about the pain he was feeling in his left leg.

Roberts gave more details about the situation later in the post-game interview.

"It’s a bone spur," the manager said. "It’s obviously not good. There’s swelling. There’s pain. He’s doing everything he can to kind of get through. Some starts it feels fine and it’s not impeding. Today certainly it was. He just — he had nothing. No legs today obviously.

"Then you start worrying about how it could affect his arm. There was just no other alternative but to take him out of that second inning after the [Corbin] Caroll at-bat. We’re going to see how he comes in tomorrow. We got somebody coming, just potentially if it is an IL situation."

The Dodgers are struggling with their pitchers who have landed more on the injured lists than on the field.
