The New York Yankees starting pitcher Carlos Rodon talked about how he feels that his team has a better roster in comparison to their World Series rivals, the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Yankees had a great run this season, and they've proved their potency quite well, especially with their recent victories against the Kansas City Royals and Cleveland Guardians in the ALDS and ALCS, respectively.
Rodon sat down with the media before the World Series Game 1, where he was asked about his thoughts going into the game against a strong lineup that includes stars like Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman. Carlos Rodon was quite clear with his words and stated that he doesn't fear these names, in fact, he feels the Yankees are in a much better position than their opponents.

"You know, it's just, I think a lot of it has to do with, I mean, it's just, it's what's in front of you, and you just, you go and you compete. I mean, we're all pretty good, you know. I know they have good hitters, but, you know, we're here for a reason.I'm here for a reason," Rodon said.
"I think our lineup's just as good. Honestly, I think we're better, but I'm biased. But, you know, yeah, I mean, I'm here, I'm a big leaguer, too. So I'm supposed to get those guys out, that's what I'm paid for," he added.
Rodon has been shining in the postseason, as he went 1-1 with a 4.40 ERA and 1.12 WHIP and has recorded 22 strikeouts in 14.1 innings.
Carlos Rodon to start the World Series Game 2 for the Bronx Bombers
The New York Yankees have already revealed their game plans for the upcoming games of the World Series. Carlos Rodon will be starting in Game 2 and Clarke Schmidt has been chosen to start Game 3.
Meanwhile, the Dodgers have picked their star pitcher, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who will have his third start this postseason, to go against Rodon. But they haven't revealed their starting pitcher, who will be going against Schmidt. Carlos Rodon has already proved his worth during the October 14th match against the Guardians.
"I feel like I’m almost in the driver’s seat as far as emotions go, just getting to watch Gerrit [Cole] and Rodon, kind of seeing what the environment is like," Schmidt said about his teammates.
Carlos Rodon will be facing the Dodgers for the first time this year, since he did not get a chance to play against them in the regular season.
