Lance Lynn's wife, Dymin, has embarked on a new venture, launching a podcast where she invites guests from the baseball world and beyond to discuss various topics.
In the latest episode, released on Monday, her guest was her husband, Lance. The pair kicked off their conversation discussing some viral moments in baseball and then smoothly transitioned towards Lynn's contract situation with the Cardinals ahead of the upcoming MLB free agency.
Dymin began the discussion on the Cardinals' situation by asking her husband if he was comfortable sharing the details, to which he responded:
"I learned yesterday that they are probably not going to pick up my option. So five days after the World Series' last game is finished, I will be a free agent. I think that's how it goes, so they will decline my option and see if anybody wants me."
Dymin interjected and replied:
"I want you."
Soon after, the couple reflected on how many times Lance had been a free agent in his career and how many times he had been traded. Lynn then provided insight into how the top pitchers in the MLB have struggled in free agency in recent years and how to navigate the free agency market.
"Last year, there were multiple guys that didn't sign until late March. And then, you know, it's just kind of, now over time, you've learned that if you know where you want to be, you know the ballpark, the number you are looking for money-wise, you can narrow it down, take it, and go," he said.
"Because if they pass you up and someone else takes it, they are not coming back, and that's how it works."
In his second stint with the Cardinals in 2024, the 37-year-old reached a career milestone of 2,000 strikeouts, among other achievements.
The couple, proud parents of four children, reside in St. Louis, Missouri.
