Jazz Chisholm Jr. had all the praise for Max Fried after the New York Yankees won 4-0 against the Cleveland Guardians at Yankee Stadium on Thursday. Fried’s outing was indeed remarkable against the rivals following their 4-0 loss this week.

Chisholm could empathize with his rivals, as he once was on the other side of the receiving end. Talking about their time as rivals, Jazz Chisholm Jr. noted he is rather happy to have Fried as his teammate and not as an opponent.

"I feel like he does it every day," Jazz Chisholm Jr. said. "I was in the same division as him before the rules changed, so I was seeing him about 5-6 times a year and it wasn't fun. I can imagine for other guys now they get to feel my pain.”

The Yankees manager, Aaron Boone, added that Max Fried was their No.1 guy to go after in the free agency. The organization signed Fried to an 8-year, $218 million deal, right after Juan Soto left for Queens.

Boone praised Fried’s outing, saying he worked out every one of his pitches well, despite some swing-and-miss. Even Guardians' manager, Stephen Voght, said:

“It’s hard to square his ball up.”

Last month, during the World Series rematch vs. the LA Dodgers, Max Fried allowed six runs over five innings in the team’s 8-5 loss. However, in the recent match on Thursday vs. the Guardians, he made sure to get back in his top form.

"I’m a competitor; I want to go out there and win,” Max Fried said. “The fact that we had a lead and I gave it up … it’s not going to sit well with me. But you’ve got to be able to use this as motivation to go out next time and make sure it doesn’t happen again.”

Talking about his latest win, he expressed he was satisfied to go full out and "get to 100 pitches". He's currently focused on making sure the team holds on to the lead as long as possible and gets a win every time he steps on the mound.
