Shohei Ohtani and Aaron Judge have taken a step closer toward a potential World Series for the ages. Although there are plenty of games remaining in the Championship Series, a potential showdown between Ohtani and Judge for the title would undoubtedly be must-watch television for any sports fan.

In the latest episode of The Mayor’s Office with Sean Casey, hosts Sean Casey and Rich Ciancimino gave their predictions about which teams will advance to the World Series. For three-time All-Star Sean Casey, he is not only leaning toward the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees but also brushed on how profitable a series between Shohei Ohtani and Aaron Judge could be. His co-host agreed.

"I've been working in baseball in some capacity from ESPN til now for 25 years," Ciancimino said. "And every single year, people have said, 'Can you imagine what the ratings would be if it would be Dodgers-Yankees'." [8:59]

The Yankees and Dodgers are arguably the two most famous teams in baseball. Even though the two franchises are on opposite sides of the country, the two teams have a historic postseason rivalry with them facing 11 times in the World Series.

"Add to the fact that it's the two greatest players in the world, who are both the biggest players in the world, literally tall and famous in Ohtani, Judge, Dodgers, Yankees ... that would get Super Bowl-type numbers [9:18]," Ciancimino continued.

If Ohtani and Judge can lead their teams to the title game, this will be the first time since 1981 that the Yankees and Dodgers squared off for the World Series. In three games this year, the Dodgers were able to take the season series 2-1.

Shohei Ohtani and the Dodgers steamroll the New York Mets in Game 1 of the NLCS

While Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees await the opening game of their ALCS battle against the Cleveland Guardians, Ohtani and the Dodgers made a statement to the remaining teams on Sunday night.

During Game 1 of the NLCS, Shohei Ohtani and the star-studded Los Angeles Dodgers showcased how dangerous they can be at the plate. In front of a packed crowd, the Dodgers dominated the New York Mets 9-0 to take a 1-0 series lead. Although it was only the first game, it's clear why the Dodgers have long been considered a favorite to win the World Series this season.
