The Boys in Blue had a strong start, with Mookie Betts going deep with a solo shot deep to left field. Michael King was forced to look at the ball fly over Jurickson Profar. Buehler had a decent first inning, but the Padres got back on track as Manny Machado reached home plate.
The Dodgers had a couple of in-field mistakes that cost them a run. Buehler struggled in the second inning as the Padres took a three-run lead in no time. To make things worse for their rivals, Fernando Tatis Jr. smashed a two-run blast deep to left field to give his team a 6-1 lead.
Teoscar Hernandez got his team back in the game with an epic grad slam against King.

Mookie Betts, Fernando Tatis Jr., and Teoscar Hernandez hit home runs tonight
Betts was the first to get on the scoreboard, but the Padres' top-class performance overshadowed his home run. Tatis smashed an excellent tow-run blast as Buehler surrendered five runs in the second inning.
Hernandez smashed a huge grand slam deep to center field, instantly giving his team some hope. Despite all the effort from Hernandez and the team, the Padres prevailed in Game 3. San Deigo's bullpen had an extraordinary game, as their opponent was unable to score.

Buehler suffered the loss in a disappointing start. While the second inning turned out to be a disaster, Buehler lasted for five innings. Los Angeles did well with their bullpen as well, but the damage was already done. Tatis' two-run home run was a crucial hit for the Padres.
Both teams are yet to announce their starting pitchers for Game 4. The Padres are just one win away from making it to the NLCS. As for their rival, they are on the brink of elimination in their next game.
