MLB fans react to José Ramírez falling over trying to hit ridiculous off-speed pitch from Matt Brash: "I can't quit watching this" "Witchcraft"

Matt Brash had José Ramírez looking foolish on opening day. The Seattle Mariners pitcher had the Cleveland Guardians veteran on the floor trying to hit his knuckle curve.

Making an elite batter like Ramírez look like he's never stepped in a box isn't easy. The four-time All-Star third baseman has made a living with his ability to mash in the box.

José Ramírez is coming off a season during which he slashed .280/.355/.514 with 29 home runs and a league-leading 44 doubles. He's one of the most feared hitters in the game today.

Brash, who's entering his second season in the league, will never forget this. This should boost the young right-hander's confidence heading into a long MLB season.

"I can't quit watching this," one fan tweeted.
"Witchcraft," tweeted another fan.

Fans were blown away by Matt Brash's break on his knuckle curve. It looks like he's throwing a wiffle ball up there. No wonder José Ramírez fell to the ground.

If these are the types of pitches Brash will be throwing all year, the Seattle Mariners are in good hands. Don't be surprised if he puts more big-time hitters on their butts.

It was a pitcher's duel on opening day in the game between the Seattle Mariners and Cleveland Guardians. Both Shane Bieber and Luis Castillo pitched tremendously. Castillo went six innings, giving up just one hit and striking out six on zero runs. Bieber went six innings himself of shutting down the Mariners' bats.

Both teams went to their bullpens in the seventh inning. The Guardians turned to Trevor Stephan, who just signed a four-year extension on Thursday. He kept up the scoreless streak for the Guardians, while the Mariners turned to Matt Brash.

The game wasn't decided until the eighth inning. Ty France became the hero on opening day for Seattle as he launched a three-run home run off James Karinchak. The Mariners would go on to win the game 3-0.

While not a lot of offense was had, the game was still exciting to watch. The new rules, which players and fans are still getting used to, proved to speed the game up. It's a real change of pace from seeing batters readjusting their batting gloves or pitchers stepping off the mound every couple of pitches.
