Jeimer Candelario

Cincinnati Reds manager David Bell has confirmed that infielder Jeimer Candelario is suffering a bout of tendonitis, and will likely require a few days of rest. Bell did, however, claim that the 30-year-old is unlikely to miss an extended period of time.

In 65 games for the Reds this season, Candelario is hitting .252/.309/.484 with 12 home runs and 35 RBIs. A former AL doubles leader, Candelario has two years remaining on his $45 million deal with Cincinnati.

Joey Votto

The Dunedin Blue Jays, Toronto's Single-A affiliate, have announced that veteran Joey Votto will be commencing a rehab with them on Thursday.

The former MVP became a free agent after the Reds declined his club option this spring. Soon thereafter, the 40-year-old signed a minor-league deal with his hometown Toronto Blue Jays in March, only to suffer an ankle injury weeks afterwards. Votto will likely play in Dunedin as well as Triple-A Buffalo before he is called upon for his Jays debut, which will mark his first MLB appearance since September.

Jazz Chisholm Jr.

The Miami Marlins have announced that Jazz Chisholm Jr. was scratched for the team's 4-3 win over the Cardinals today. Manager Skip Schumaker has insisted that the move is purely precautionary as the infielder was experiencing hamstring tightness.

After injuries limited the Bahamanian to just 97 games last year, Chisholm was showed signs of recovery in 2024. In 72 games, Jazz is hitting .266/.333/.446 with 10 home runs and 36 RBIs.
