Miami Marlins is an American Baseball team in Major League Baseball. The team is also widely known by its nicknames ‘The Marlins’ and ‘The Fish’. Miami Marlins is a team based in Miami, Florida. The team was established in 1993 in Florida. They were known as the Florida Marlins. They changed their name to Miami Marlins in 2012.


The main color theme of the team is Midnight black, Miami blue, Caliente red, and Slate gray. However, the team’s uniform also includes colors such as white in its color palette for its home uniform. The team's current ballpark is LoanDepot Park. It has been so since 2012. Before settling on the LoanDepot Park which is a retractable roof stadium in Miami Florida. The team had one other stadium which it called its home stadium before settling on the current one.


The team has won 2 World Series titles, and 2 NL Pennants till now.


Miami Marlins History

The Miami Marlins team seems to have been established in 1993. The organization took root because of the Blockbuster Entertainment Corporation CEO, Wayne Huizenga. He was the first owner and creator of the Miami Marlins and he was awarded the franchise in 1991, which he later expanded. He started the team with a $95 million expansion fee to make a franchise in the National League. The team was called the Florida Marlins from the year of its establishment to 2011. The team changed its name to Miami Marlins in 2012 which it is still called by.


Miami Marlins Owner

The current owner of the Miami Marlins is Bruce S. Sherman. He was born in May, 1948. He attended the University of Rhode Island to complete his Bachelor of Arts degree. He completed his M.B.A. from Baruch College. Sherman is an American businessman and Co-founder of Private Capital Management. He is the principal owner and chairman of the Miami Marlins and he acquired the team in August 2017. He led a group that consisted of Derek Jeter and Michael Jordan andacquired the team for a whopping $1.2 billion from Jeffrey Loria.


Miami Marlins Jerseys and Logo

The current Miami Marlins jersey consists of the colors midnight black, Miami blue, caliente red, and slate gray.


In 2012, the team changed their uniforms. The color theme of the uniform became orange, yellow, and sky blue. The logo changed to a stylized ‘Marlin’ on the jersey. The alternate uniform became a solid black jersey with white and blue color accents. It also sported gray pants.


The road uniform was gray white and orange, showing in the logo on the jersey. The other alternate uniform spotted an orange jersey logo spotting white and blue accents. The pants on this uniform were white. The home uniform was white with orange accents. The Miami logo was stylized and in a solid black color with orange mixed in.


In 2019, the team changed its uniform again. This change is what the Marlins still spot. Currently, the Marlins have five different sets of uniforms. The color theme of the uniforms is midnight black, Miami blue, caliente red, and slate gray. The home uniform is a solid white with red, black and blue accents. The jersey has ‘Marlins’ written in blue with a red accent in the middle.


The away uniform is of gray color with blue and red accents. The team has two alternate uniforms, one is a teal blue pinstripe with black accents. The other has a black jersey with white pants.


They also have a City Connect uniform which has a caliente red jersey and thin white stripes with blue accents. The pants are white with blue with blue accents.

The Miami Marlins currently call the LoanDepot Park as its home. It has been the team's home since 2012. The LoanDepot Park can hold approximately 37,442 spectators in capacity. The ballpark opened in March 2012 and is located in Miami, Florida. The stadium is about 928,000 sq ft and its other tenant was Miami Beach Bowl.


The Marlins had another stadium that they called home. The stadium was Sun Life Stadium, which was their home stadium from 1993 to 2011.
