Aaron Boone, the manager of the New York Yankees, has been receiving praise for the team's recent run of form. MLB analyst Craig Carton has even referred to him as the "best" manager currently in baseball. This recognition is noteworthy considering the issues the Yankees faced at the beginning of the season.

The 50-year-old has been leading the Yankees since 2018, replacing Joe Girardi. Since then, he has led the Yankees to five postseason appearances and two AL Championship Series appearances. However, the team has fallen short of reaching the World Series, losing in the ALCS twice to the Astros.

This season started off poorly for the Yankees, with a .500 winning percentage. However, things have changed in recent months, and they are currently the best team in the league with a 29-20 record. They have narrowed the gap with the Tampa Bay Rays, the leaders of the AL East division, to just six games.

Craig Carton spoke about the manager's good leadership on the WFAN Sports Radio. He praised Boone for the work ethic and his ability to turn things around with the limited options available to him.

“Aaron Boone is the best manager in baseball,” Craig said. “Let’s just say it the way it is. The Yankees have the best record in baseball in the month of way. Why is that? Because steady as she goes, that’s why.”

Craig Carton points out that not winning a World Series doesn't make Aaron Boone a bad manager

Carton also added that fans always look for trophies to measure the success of managers. However he feels that Boone not having a World Series victory against him, doesn't make him incompetent to lead the job in New York.

“Say what you want about not winning World Series, but for a team that has been besieged by injuries…at some point, and I know you hate to do it, someone has to acknowledge that Aaron Boone is a damn good manager,” Craig said. “You have to acknowledge that he has his finger on the right pulse of the Yankees right now.”

It has to be accepted that Boone has had to take some strong decisions recently. All in all it seems to have pleased the Bombers fans who were looking for change in fortunes.
