New York Mets prospect third baseman Brett Baty was removed from his Triple-A game in Syracuse on Tuesday afternoon. It seemed like the slugger had hurt his hand on a swing in the third inning.
Baty grimaced after his 2-1 miss. The trainers came out to evaluate his hand, but Baty finished his at-bat. He didn't return to the field after the at-bat as Baty will undergo testing.

This isn't what the organization wanted to see. He was under consideration to be called up at any point this season. Now the team will have to wait and see how bad his injury is.
Baty made some strides in the majors last season before his season ended due to needing thumb surgery. He played in 11 games last season for the Mets, hitting two home runs.
"Oh great, the Mets curse strikes again..." one fan tweeted.
"Another day, another Mets injury," tweeted another fan.
New York Mets fans aren't happy to hear that one of their best prospects is injured. Many shouted at the front office to put Brett Baty on the Opening Day roster.
Fans are hoping this injury is just minor and he won't miss much time. He's an exciting player who should have a great MLB future ahead of him.
Brett Baty could be a huge bat for the New York Mets in the future

Brett Baty showed just what he is capable of at the plate in his Triple-A game on Saturday. He went 4-5, opening his season with a double. He hit two home runs in the game, one of them being a grand slam. Three of his four hits on Saturday came off the bat at more than 100 mph.
Baty has impressive power. While he tends to struggle a bit against left-handed pitching, he dominates right-handed pitching with ease. He has insane opposite-field power that he has shown off in his minor league career.
He has flashed the leather and has an impressive arm to match his bat skills. He had no problem throwing the ball across the diamond to first base. During his senior showcase in high school, he flashed an infield velocity of 88 mph. As he develops, that's only going to get better.
He will be a player that the New York Mets will want to hold onto as he continues to grow and develop.
