Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman had a fantastic 2024 season. Batting .282, with 22 home runs and 189 RBIs in the regular season, Freeman was a crucial piece of the puzzle for skipper Dave Roberts' as he masterminded a World Series-winning campaign.
Infinitely more important than any on-field achievement, though, are the positive developments in the health of Freeman's son, Maximus. Shortly after the All-Star break, Freeman's three-year-old was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome, a rare neurological disorder.
Thankfully, after eight days in the intensive care unit, Max got better and returned home. He is now on the road to making a full recovery.
On Tuesday, Freddie's wife, Chelsea, took to Instagram to post a story as the whole family got themselves in the Christmas spirit, visiting Santa Claus.
"No crying for Santa this year 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻" Chelsea Freeman captioned her Instagram Story
According to sources, Freddie Freeman met his wife in 2011 when he was on the Atlanta Braves' books, and she was a student at the University of Central Florida. They got engaged in January 2014 after Chelsea graduated, and went on to tie the knot in November of the same year. The couple have three sons- Charlie, Brandon and Maximus.
Freddie Freeman's wife still not over iconic World Series game one grand slam
Though Freddie Freeman's regular season was solid, the 35-year-old's performance in the World Series was the highlight of his season. Deservedly winning the Willie Mayes trophy, Freddie's most iconic moment of the World Series came as he hit a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the tenth inning in Game 1 against the New York Yankees.
Freddie's wife Chelsea, like many Dodgers fans, is not able to stop re-watching the legendary moment. On Tuesday, Chelsea Freeman took to Instagram to share a meme that many Dodgers fans will find relatable.
With a hugely successful season in the books, the first baseman can now look forward to spending some well-deserved time off with his wife and sons. The focus shifts back to baseball in the new year, as Freeman and Co. report to spring training in early February looking to repeat last season's exploits.
