Kyle Schwarber and Trea Turner home runs tonight
While there were only three home runs blasted tonight, all three came from the home team. Both teams had an equal number of hits (13) but it was three big hits by the Phillies that were the difference in the game.
Leading off for the Phillies, Kyle Schwarber set a single-season record by hitting his 14th leadoff home run this season, surpassing Alfonso Soriano (13 leadoff homers for the New York Yankees, 2003). On the second pitch of Taj Bradley, Schwarber clubbed for a 437-foot solo home run in center field.

However, there will be concerns with Schwarber exiting the game in the fourth inning due to left elbow discomfort.
Trea Turner hit two home runs tonight for the Phillies. The first came in the third inning, a 381-foot, two-run home run in left-center field.
The second home run came on the most pivotal inning of the night. After pinch hitter Cal Stevenson hit a tiebreaking two-run double in the eighth inning and reached home on a single by Buddy Kennedy, Turner arrived at the plate. He capped off the eighth inning with a two-run home run that went for 376 feet, giving the Phillies a winning 9-4 lead.
