During spring training in February, Stanton revealed struggles in swinging the bat, as he was diagnosed with tennis elbow in both arms. However, the slugger is nearing a return after missing the 2025 season so far.

Ahead of his first rehab game for Double-A Somerset, Stanton gave a positive update on his potential return.

"Good, good, ready to rock," Stanton said on how he was feeling. "It's been, it's been a long time coming, so it's good to get rolling."

Stanton said on playing with the upcoming talents at Somerset:

"Just a lot of ballers here. It's gonna be cool for a little bit to see how they go about their business. It's gonna be great and you know anything I could do to give insight here."

Giancarlo Stanton was troubled by elbow issues last season, but the All-Star slugger came up clutch in the postseason, going deep seven times in 14 games in the Yankees' run through to the World Series.

Giancarlo Stanton shows glimpses of his power in first rehab game

Ahead of his first rehab outing, Giancarlo Stanton admitted that there's nothing like playing a major league game.

“I just got to get some real at-bats in a game, and let me figure it out,” Stanton said on Tuesday. “This isn’t where I want to be, trust me. This will tell me how close I am,” he later added. “There’s no simulating a major-league game, but if you want to get as close as you can, you get to a minor-league game.”

Stanton was greeted by a loud ovation by fans before his first at-bat for Somerset on Tuesday. The veteran slugger went 2-for-3, drawing a walk with three RBI.
