Red Sox fans furious with starter Corey Kluber's performance against Padres: "When he’s starting you’re already defeated"

Corey Kluber's efforts as a starter for the Boston Red Sox came under the scanner as he gave away crucial runs in the game against the San Diego Padres in a blowout loss for his team. Kluber was removed just 2.1 innings into the game after a horror first inning.The Padres batting lineup has blown hot and cold recently. With bases loaded in the first, Juan Soto's pop out fly to the shortstop scared a few Padres fans. But unlike recent games, they were able to convert all base runners as Matt Carpenter drew an run batted-in (RBI) walk before Rougned Odor hit a 3 RBI double to clear the bases.Corey Kluber seemed to struggle from the start allowing walks to Fernando Tatis Jr and Xander Bogaerts. A Jake Cronenworth single was sandwiched in between that to due to a fielding error made by the 37-year-old himself. The at-bats for Carpenter and Odor proved harder for him to get through the innings.Kluber survived the second innings, even though he gave a hit to Brett Sullivan. In the third, after Soto converted his AB for a single, Corey Kluber was removed from the mound for a season short 2.1 innings, giving away 3 hits and 1 earned run (ER) in 64 pitches. The Padres batting lineup is sure to get plenty of confidence from this outing as they have majorly struggled in their previous games. This was just their third win in 14 games as the team has lost five straight series. Even though they didn't get the win, avoiding a series loss against a 26-21 Red Sox was really important.
