Fans mock Juan Soto and Yankees teammate's Knicks game appearance after Rays loss

New York Yankees hitting sensation Juan Soto switched sports on Sunday when the All-Star slugger rocked up to New York Knicks' playoff game at Madison Square Garden with his teammates.

Soto was accompanied by another new Yankees signing Marcus Stroman, along with Clarke Schmidt, Gleyber Torres, and Nestor Cortes at courtside during the Knicks' game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

While the MLB stars displayed their support for the New York-based NBA team, Yankees fans weren't too pleased by their courtside appearance following a disappointing loss against the Tampa Bay Rays earlier on Saturday.

Yankees fans reminded the players of the failed offense earlier in the day when the team fell to a shutout loss against the Rays after extra innings.

"Be nice if they could’ve scored a run. Embarrassing they went to the game after that disgusting performance today," @GoGiantsYankees vented.
"Yet they gotten shut out earlier in the day," @alka19882 wrote.

However, a section of fans rallied behind the Yankees fans and hoped the players could take inspiration from the New York Knicks' victory for their series finale against the Rays.

"Yankees traveled to the Garden to catch the W! Hopefully that winning vibes carry over to tomorrow's Yankees and Rangers games!" @FarawellStephen wrote.
"Maybe seeing the Knicks score will motivate the Yanks to do some scoring some themselves tomorrow. Not a single unearned run in 18 innings!," @ibbyl projected.

Juan Soto's purple patch not enough to compensate for team's offensive failures

Juan Soto has become a favorite among the Yankees faithful ever since his coveted move from the San Diego Padres in the offseason.

The three-time All-Star slugger's red-hot form has been bailing out his team lately, but Saturday's game against the Rays was another rude awakening for the team that is yet to cope with Aaron Judge's poor hitting form.

The Yankees captain failed to manage a hit in his four at-bats, squandering an opportunity to give his team the lead in the ninth inning after a four-pitch strikeout.

While Soto has been one of the most in-form players in the division so far, Yankees' over-reliance on the star slugger is beginning to hurt the team.
