Fans reacted as MLB insider Jon Heyman's appearance on WFAN radio in New York on Friday night turned out to be a disaster, as host Keith McPherson quipped. It initially started out as a joke as the two discussed free agency and the latest Mets signing of Clay Holmes.
However, things turned serious when McPherson made jokes tying Heyman to renowned agent Scott Boras, who's representing several free agents, including Juan Soto and Alex Bregman.
That irked the New York Post's journalist, who thought McPherson was questioning his integrity as a professional. Heyman also recalled the infamous "Arson Judge tweet" when he incorrectly reported that Judge was heading to the San Francisco Giants.

Here's how the conversation unfolded:
Heyman: "I don’t need to break this (Soto) story. I’ve broken a lot of stories. I won’t be going on with you again. The whole thing has been a disaster. I can’t believe you even said that. To question my integrity."
McPherson: "Are you being serious right now?"
Heyman: "I know you’re not a journalist; you don’t know anything about this (reporting business). I’m done with you and I’m done with WFAN. Goodbye. I can’t even believe it! I CAN’T EVEN BELIEVE IT!"
That led to social media buzzing with all kinds of reactions:
"Ain't no way this happened on the 2nd anniversary of Arson Judge 😂😂," one fan commented.
"Crashed out lmao," another wrote.
"Bro sounds like he's on the verge of tears," another user added.
Some users affirmed McPherson's words, while some showed support for the veteran writer.
"Heyman has been Scott Boras’ lackey for years. Boras tells Jon what to do and he does it," one fan posted.
"i honestly understand heyman i’d be tight too if thats all everyone brought up for 3 YEARS over a letter mistake lmaoo," another wrote.
"I don’t think he can believe it," one added.

What actually unfolded between MLB insider Jon Heyman and Keith McPherson?
WFAN host Keith McPherson triggered Jon Heyman, who was on the show via call.
There's a rumor that says Heyman has a special relationship with agent Scott Boras and that he gets first-hand information from him directly, which helps him break news earlier than most. However, the veteran MLB journalist has always denied about it.
McPherson jokingly asked Heyman about the commission he would receive upon breaking Juan Soto's high-worth contract:
"When I look at your tweets, and when I look at your history, I always say, ‘Ok, this guy is part of Boras Corp.' What’s the percentage of the Juan Soto contract you’re going to get when you break the news on where he signs?”
Heyman declined the allegations put forth, while McPherson seemed to believe that it was all a joke, as he continued with another jab in reference to his "Arson Judge" tweet in 2022.
That led Heyman to act up and hang up the call before throwing shade at McPherson.
