Last season, the Texas Rangers shocked much of the baseball world when they signed both Corey Seager and Marcus Semien. They did this again this year when they landed Jacob deGrom in free agency. However, they didn't just stop at deGrom.

The Rangers signed Nathan Eovaldi, Andrew Heaney, and Jake Odorizzi as well. They'll slot nicely next to established starter Martin Perez. The Rangers have built a solid pitching rotation heading into the 2023 season.

It's going to be tough for opposing hitters to score runs against this Texas pitching staff. It's hard to be beaten when other teams can't score runs.

The hype video has fans ready for the season to get underway. They have high expectations coming into the 2023 season. On paper, they're a way better team than last year's team, who finished the season with a 68-94 record.

"I cannot wait! Go Rangers!" one fan cheered.
"How deep can they get?" another fan asked.

The Texas Rangers haven't been a .500 team since 2016. Texas has had a couple of seasons of misery. Especially with all the success the Houston Astros have had in recent years.

Fans haven't been this excited for a season to start in a long time. They're ready to battle for the American League West division title.

Do the Texas Rangers have enough talent to compete in the AL West?

The AL West is a tough division. It includes the reigning World Series champion Astros, as well as the surging Seattle Mariners. As bad as the Los Angeles Angels have been, they can't be ruled out; the Rangers will have their hands full.

Marcus Semien didn't have the best season last year. He couldn't have started off the season more poorly. In April, he slashed .157/.226/.217. He'd end up turning it around and finishing the year hitting .248/.304/.429. Expect Semien to come out of the gate with something to prove.

The Rangers are ready for Adolis Garcia to take off. He's coming off the best season of his career. In 2022, the speedy outfielder hit .250/.300/.456 with 25 stolen bases. Every year, Garcia keeps improving.

The team is fast, has a solid duo up the middle, and has an impressive pitching staff. They could be a real contender if everyone contributes from the start. Don't be surprised if the Texas Rangers come out hot.
