Wednesday’s game was a stellar 10-3 victory for the Los Angeles Dodgers against the New York Mets. It was the Dodgers' third consecutive win in the three-game series, sweeping the Mets.

In the second inning, Will Smith started the scoring by hitting a solo homer, his eighth of the season. Andy Pages’ RBI single in the fourth brought in another run. In the fifth inning, Shohei Ohtani hit a single giving Miguel Vargas a chance to score a run.

The New York Mets offense countered the Dodgers by bringing in three runs in the fifth. The Dodgers offense soon replied, showing off its prowess in the eighth inning by bringing in six runs for the team.

Smith hit a 404-foot homer, his ninth of the season, putting the team one run ahead of the Mets. Miguel Rojas’ one-run singles followed by Vargas’ two-run double gave the Dodgers a 7-3 lead.

Ohtani also hit a two-run homer, his 14th of the season, in the same inning. In the ninth inning, Jason Heyward hit a solo home run, setting the game's final score, 10-3.

Dodgers fans were quite overjoyed with the team’s stellar performance and took to X/Twitter to congratulate them:

The Los Angeles Dodgers pitching staff held the New York Mets to nine hits over nine innings, striking out seven, with one homer and three walks.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts lauds offense and highlights their improved batting

The Dodgers offense recorded 16 hits on 41 at-bats, driving in 10 runs, four walks and nine strikeouts against the Mets. Discussing their performance, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said (via AP News):

“It was great. Obviously, a great series results-wise for us… A lot of good things happened. A lot of good situational at-bats, two-strike hitting. Just across the board up and down the line was really good to see. I thought we were just using the whole field better.”

The Los Angeles Dodgers take on the Colorado Rockies next in a three-game series starting on Friday at Dodger Stadium.
