Mookie Betts, the star right fielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers, almost suffered a scary injury during a game against the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday night. Betts collided with his teammate, Jason Heyward, while chasing a pop-up in shallow right field. Betts was playing second base in the game, while Heyward took over right field, which is usually Bett’s spot.

The collision occurred in the bottom of the fifth inning, with the Dodgers leading 4-0. As Betts drifted back to make the catch, Heyward ran in from right field and appeared to clip Bellinger's right leg.

The crowd at the Dodgers Stadium fell silent as they watched Mookie Betts writhe in pain. He eventually got to his feet and walked off under his own power, but it was clear that he was in a lot of discomfort. However, he was able to continue and went 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs against the Rockies.

After the game, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts gave an update on Betts' condition. He said that Betts had only suffered a twisted right ankle and that the test results indicated that it was only a minor injury. While Betts was sore and would likely miss the next game, Roberts said that the team was optimistic that he would be back in the lineup soon.

Betts himself spoke to reporters after the game and said that he was feeling pretty good considering what had happened. Betts added that he was hopeful that he would be able to play in the Dodgers' next game, which is scheduled for April 6th against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Mookie Betts and the Dodgers relieved to escape injury scare

Los Angeles Dodgers fans breathed a collective sigh of relief upon hearing the news that Mookie Betts' injury was not serious. Betts, who signed a 12-year, $365 million contract with the Dodgers before the start of the 2021 MLB season, is a key piece of the team's lineup and is widely regarded as one of the best players in baseball.

The collision with Heyward was an unfortunate incident that could have had serious consequences for both players. Fortunately, it appears that Betts will be able to return to the field very soon and continue his impressive career with the Dodgers.
