Former Oakland A's star Jose Canseco and ex-wife Jessica Canseco were married for three years before accusations of infidelity and battery derailed their relationship and resulted in a divorce in 2000.

In her memoir, "Juicy: Confessions of a Former Baseball Wife," Jessica described their relationship as tumultuous and so toxic that it consumed a good 10 years of her life. And while she admitted to falling head over heels for him, the emotional baggage was so heavy that it took her almost the same amount of time to get over.

Jessica Canseco wrote in her memoir:

"At the age of nineteen, when I still knew very little about life, and even less about myself, I fell hopelessly in love with the most gorgeous man I had ever seen. It took me the better part of a decade to get over that horrible addiction."

The relationship took steep turns due to multiple reasons, including steroids, pregnancy, marriage, birth of a darling daughter, and more. Jose Canseco was also arrested in 1997 for beating Jessica.

The pair first bumped into each other at a local Hooters in Oakland in 1997. She described the feeling as "love at first sight." They dated for some time prior to being married in August 1996. Together, they have one daughter, Josie Canseco.

Jose Canseco's ex-wife has starred in a reality TV series with her daughter Josie Canseco

Jessica Canseco and her daughter Josie Canseco starred in the reality television series "The Mother/Daughter Experiment: Celebrity Edition" which premiered on E! Online in March 2016.

Josie Canseco, a former model who has appeared on several reality TV shows in the past, and her mother entered the show in the hope of mending their fractured relationship.

The idea behind the whole program was to have six mother-and-daughter pairs spend time together under the same roof while working beside a therapist to mend their relationship.
