Aaron Judge is without question one of the most popular players in the MLB thanks to his prominent role with the New York Yankees and his mammoth home runs. Another reason for gaining fans across the globe, particularly with this generation, is because of a cameo that he made on the "PAW Patrol" spin-off "Rubble & Crew."
In the episode of the children's television show, Aaron Judge helped Rubble and his friends build a new ballpark to host their home run derby event. Although the episode was a success in marketing him, it has not translated to success on the field.
Since his appearance on the show, Aaron Judge has been on one of the worst stretches of his MLB career. In 71 plate appearances since the "Rubble & Crew" episode, the New York Yankees slugger has posted a .207 batting average with zero home runs and only 4 RBIs.
The extended home run drought is now the longest of his career, something that the club and their fans are hoping will end before the playoffs. Some fans even took to social media and called "PAW Patrol" a curse; however, Mookie Betts performed well following his cameo back in 2021. Although it may only be a coincidence, the Yankees captain is clearly in a funk at the plate right now.
The New York Yankees will need Aaron Judge to break out of his slump if they have any chance of winning the title
Whether or not Judge's cameo on "Rubble & Crew" has anything to do with his current struggles, it's clear that he needs to rediscover his form to give the New York Yankees any hope of winning the World Series.
If Aaron Judge is unable to rediscover his superstar form, it could be a problem for the Yankees in the postseason given his importance to the lineup. Both Judge and Juan Soto have been among the best players in the league this season, but the rest of the lineup has been inconsistent throughout the year.
The American League MVP Award favorite has been one of the main reasons why the Yankees are at the top of their division. Before Friday's action, Judge has posted an impressive .319 batting average with 51 home runs and a 1.136 OPS. Although Bobby Witt Jr. has made a case for himself, the MVP Award is still Judge's to lose at this point of the season.
