Shohei Ohtani is a two-way player in American baseball. Nicknamed “Shotime”, he plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers in MLB. Shohei Ohtani was born on July 5, 1994 in Oshu, Iwate, Japan. He played for the Hokkaido-Nippon Ham Fighters in the NPB (Nippon Professional Baseball) and gained prominence by attracting the attention of several MLB teams before finally coming to the MLB. He made his MLB debut for the Los Angeles Angels on March 29, 2018. Since then, he became a three-time MLB All-Star player in 2021, 2022, and 2023. He also obtained several other achievements, including the Silver Slugger Award, AL MVP, AL Rookie of the Year, AP Athlete of the Year, and others. He is currently one of the best MLB players in recent times.


Ohtani has notched up an ERA (Earned Run Average) of 3.08 with 597 strikeouts in 470.1 innings pitched with a WHIP of 1.08 in pitching in his career. In his batting career, he has achieved a batting average of .273 with 166 home runs, 79 stolen bases, 423 RBI, .363 OBP, and .919 OPS.
