Two-time World Series champion Johnny Damon was arrested in 2021 for driving under the influence.
On Feb. 19, Damon was driving a black SUV in Florida, when he caught the attention of a police officer. After he was pulled over, it was found that Damon had a 0.30 blood alcohol content.
He was slapped with DUI charges as well as resisting a police officer without violence. The two-time All-Star's wife, Michelle Damon, was involved in the incident as well and was arrested for battery and resisting arrest.
According to an affidavit obtained by US Magazine, the arresting officer said Damon showed all the signs of being under the influence.
“As I observed Damon, he was extremely unsteady on his feet and his speech was extremely slurred. I detected the odor of alcoholic impurities coming from his person as we stood at the rear of his vehicle.
"I asked Damon how much he had to drink during the evening, and he stated ‘…just a little bit,’ while motioning with his left hand and fingers in a small pinching motion.”
Johnny Damon said he behaved like a "good guy" during the arrest, but that does not match the officer's statement.

The arresting officer revealed that while trying to deal with the situation, he was grabbed by Johnny Damon's wife.
“I attempted to pull Michelle toward me so that I could put her against the vehicle and then order Johnny back to the front of my car; however, Michelle then proceeded to turn toward me and grab onto my left arm while simultaneously pulling away from me and pushing me.”
The officer added:
“As she was doing this, Johnny was also intertwined among Michelle and I, which resulted in Michelle breaking away from me and she began to walk away.”
Though Damon didn't become physical with the officer, his wife did and was charged for it. While the couple were getting arrested, Michelle also complained about chest pains.
