Ayoka Lee attends Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. She committed to the University in 2019 and has played women’s basketball for the Kansas State Wildcats for four seasons. Lee also achieved a bachelor’s degree in psychology and is presently pursuing a master’s degree in couple and family therapy at the University.

Ayoka Lee’s Collegiate Basketball Performance So Far

Ayoka Lee started her collegiate basketball career with the Kansas State Wildcats as a freshman in the 2019/20 season. Unfortunately, a torn ACL caused her to redshirt most of her redshirt season. She finally debuted in 2020 and was notable for her double-double in a win against the Oklahoma Sooners. Furthermore, she won Big 12 Freshman of the Week twelve times in the season. After the season, she was honored as Big-12 Freshman of the Year and made a part of the Big-12 All-Freshman Team in 2020. She was also a member of the First Team All- Big 12 in 2020.

During her sophomore 2020/21 season, Ayoka Lee was notable for her season-high 37 points and 18 rebounds in a losing game against the Oklahoma Sooners. Nevertheless, this was the most points scored by a player of the Kansas State Wildcats during a Big 12 game. After the season, she was honored as a second-time member of the First Team All- Big 12 in 2021.

As a junior in 2021/22, Ayoka Lee was notable for her 61 points in a win against the Oklahoma Sooners Consequently she established the NCAA single-game point record and also exceeded the previous 60 points held by Rachel Banham and Cindy Brown. The end of the season saw her become a member of the Second Team All-American by AP and USBWA in 2022. Furthermore, she was also honored as a third-time member of the First Team All-Big 12 in 2022.

Ayoka Lee returned to her college in 2022 instead of joining the 2022 WNBA draft. Unfortunately, she suffered a knee injury and had to undergo surgery, which led her to miss out on the 2022/23 season. As a senior, she is now back with her team for the 2023/24 season.

Throughout four seasons and 104 games so far, Ayoka Lee is averaging 19.2 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks per game. She is also shooting 59.4% from the field so far.

Ayoka Lee’s High School Basketball Career

Ayoka Lee attended Byron High School in Minnesota and played varsity basketball for the Byron Bears. Her sophomore season saw her getting selected as a Class 3A All-State selection. Furthermore, she was also notable for a school record of 54 points in the Section 1AA Tournament. Unfortunately, a torn ACL sidelined her from the tournament. Nevertheless, she was honored as a member of Class 2A All-State.

Ayoka Lee was made a finalist for the Minnesota Miss Basketball Tournament. In the tournament, she was notable for setting single-season and career records in points, rebounds and field goal percentage. After her high school career, she committed to Kansas State University.
