Caleb Furst is an American power forward who has entered his final year of eligibility with the Purdue Boilermakers in the 2024/25 season. He started his high school career at Blackhawk Christian School where he led them to the 2021 Indiana Class 2A state title as a senior. In his senior year, he averaged 21.4 points, 14.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per contest. As a sophomore, Furst led Blackhawk to the 2019 state title while averaging 18.7 points and 10.5 rebounds on the year. Furst concluded his prep career as the all-time leader with 2,087 career points. In 2021, he was honored with the 2021 Indiana Mr Basketball and Indiana Gatorade Player of the Year.
Following his prep career, Furst received offers from Michigan State, Louisville, North Carolina, Virginia and Ohio State but decided to start his collegiate journey with Purdue according to Purdue Sports. In his freshman campaign, Furst started in 12 out of 34 games and averaged 4.1 points and 3.2 rebounds for the Boilermakers (via ESPN). He enjoyed his best campaign as a sophomore when he averaged 5.5 points and 4.6 rebounds. As a junior, Furst scored a season-high seven points against Penn State. In 2024, the 6 ft 10 in power forward entered his final year of eligibility with Purdue and has averaged 4.9 points and 3.4 rebounds during the year as of February 2025.
