Coleman Hawkins is a basketball small and power forward who transferred to the Kansas State Wildcats for his fifth and final year of college eligibility. Born on December 10, 2001, the Californian native went to Antelope High School, but moved to Prolific Prep, after his freshman year and played under coach Joey Fuca. Graduating as a three-star recruit, he opted for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign over offers from San Diego State, USC, Marquette, and Rutgers.

Coleman was one of Illinois Fighting Illini's most important players in the 2023–2024 season. He led the team with 6.1 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 1.1 blocks and also finished second in the team with 2.7 assists and 12.1 points, ranking third in the latter.
