Grant Nelson is an American basketball power forward who will play his final season with the Alabama Crimson Tide. He began his high school basketball career at the Devils Lake High School where he was named North Dakota's Mr. Basketball in 2020. During his junior season, Nelson tallied 16.4 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 5.1 blocks per game and earned second-team all-state honors. As a senior, he averaged 25 points, 18 rebounds, and 5.7 blocks per game and led the conference in all three categories.

Grant Nelson started his collegiate basketball journey with the North Dakota State Bison in 2020 where he went on to play for the next three seasons. In his freshman year, he was named Summit League Sixth Man of the Year after averaging 6.3 points in 20.8 minutes. In the 2022/23 season, Nelson averaged 17.9 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. But after three seasons with the program, Nelson transferred to Alabama in 2023. As a senior, Nelson started in all 37 games and led the team in rebounds (217) and averaged 11.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.6 blocks per game. He decided to transfer to a Power 5 school to improve his draft stock in the 2025 NBA Draft.
