The Kansas Jayhawks represent the University of Kansas and the team began competing at the varsity level in 1968 despite fielding its first team in 1903. The team competes in the Big 12 Conference of Division I of the NCAA.

The Kansas Jayhawks have made 15 NCAA tournament appearances. Legendary coach, Marian Washington, led the Jayhawks to three Big Eight championships, and 11 NCAA Tournament appearances and is the head coach with the most wins in the program’s history with 560 wins. Current head coach, Brandon Schneider, has led the program to the postseason in each of the past three seasons. He guided Kansas to the 2023 WNIT Championship during the 2022/23 season.

Kansas Basketball Head Coach 2024

Brandon Schneider has been the head coach of the Kansas Jayhawks women’s basketball team since 2015. He joined the program after spending 17 seasons as a head coach at Emporia State and Stephen F. Austin.

Schneider has now entered his 10th season with the Kansas women’s basketball program and has signed a two-year contract extension in the summer of 2024. He has guided the Jayhawks to two NCAA Tournament appearances in 2022 and 2024 while also leading to the WNIT Championship in 2023.

Kansas Women's Baksetball Associate Head Coaches

Morgan Paige is the associate head coach of the Kansas Jayhawks women’s basketball program. She served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the past three seasons and got promoted to her current role this summer. The Jayhawks have made NCAA tournament appearances in two of Paige’s three seasons at Lawrence.

Kansas Women's Baksetball Assistant Coaches

Karyla Knight, Brock McGinnis, Marqu'es Webb and Patrick Schrater are the assistant coaches of the Kansas Jayhawks basketball team. Karyla Knight is currently in her fourth season as an assistant coach after joining Schneider’s coaching staff in the summer of 2021. Before joining Kansas, she served as an assistant coach at Grand Canyon University and Evansville.

Brock McGinnis enters his second year as an assistant coach and his sixth year on Schneider’s coaching staff. He spent four years as the Director of Player Development for the program.

Marqu'es Webb joined Kansas in 2023 and the program reached the NCAA tournament for the 15th time in the program’s history.

Patrick Schrater has entered his second season as an assistant coach with the program. He spent two seasons as a graduate assistant from 2019-21 after spending two seasons as an assistant coach at Pittsburg State.
