UConn Husky Morgan Cheli shows love to Belle Bramer's huge milestone for 2025 Germany Universiade

UConn Huskies freshman Morgan Cheli has shown support for her former teammate Belle Bramer. On Sunday, Bramer was called up for the Chinese Taipei team, which will partake in the 2025 Germany Universiade.

Cheli shared the news on her Instagram story, resharing a post by Mega Sports Agency to congratulate Bramer on her selection.

"@bellecbramer yeahhh," Cheli wrote on her story.

The post which Cheli reshared also included a brief description of Bramer's basketball background:

Morgan Cheli and Belle Bramer were teammates at Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, California, before joining college. Part of the 2024 recruiting class, Cheli joined the UConn Huskies, while Bramer committed to the Lehigh Mountain Hawks.

Cheli appeared in 24 games for the Huskies as a freshman last season, averaging 2.5 points and 2.4 rebounds. Bramer, on the other hand, played 31 games but only averaged 10.9 minutes, averaging 4.1 ppg and 1.6 rpg.

Morgan Cheli shares Sarah Strong's snap from second week of UConn's summer workouts

The reigning national champions were back in the gym last week for summer workouts to prepare for the upcoming season. The Huskies' Instagram account shared a carousel of snaps from week two of the workouts on Monday.

Morgan Cheli, a 6-foot-2 guard, reposted one of the snaps to her Instagram story, which featured teammate Sarah Strong, who was staring straight into the camera.

Strong played a pivotal role in UConn's championship run last season, averaging 16.4 ppg, 8.9 rpg and 3.6 apg. She played and started in all 40 games for Geno Auriemma's squad, including the championship game against the South Carolina Gamecocks.

The Instagram post also featured a photo of veteran guard Azzi Fudd, who is entering her fifth year in Storrs. Cheli is in the mix as well and was captured attempting a shot.

The Huskies will return to the court in November for the 2025-26 season, where they will look to defend their national title. They added USC transfer Kayleigh Heckel and Wisconsin transfer Serah Williams to bolster their roster this offseason.
