Tyson Walker is a guard for the Michigan State Spartans and a graduate student, as of the 2024-2025 season. He hails from Westbury, New York and attended Christ the King in high school. Walker spent three years at Michigan State after transferring from Northeastern. During his time at Michigan State, he played in 104 games with 96 starts, with an average of 13.7 points, 3.3 assists, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game. Throughout his time with the Spartans, he scored a total of 1,425 points, placing him in 22nd on the program's all-time scoring list. During the 2023-24 season, he averaged a team-high 18.4 points per game and was selected to the All-Big Ten Second Team. He was also a finalist in the Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year Award. During the 2022-23 season, he played in and started all 34 games, averaging 14.8 points per game with a shot accuracy of 41.5% from the three-pointer range. As a sophomore in 2021-22, he appeared in all 36 games, starting 28, and recorded 4.3 assists per game to lead Michigan State while connecting on 47.3% of his three-point attempts.

Tyson Walker began his basketball career at Christ the King in Queens, New York, before moving to New Hampton School in New Hampshire. At New Hampton as a senior, he averaged 16.3 points, 3.8 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game. Tyson earned a selection in the NEPSAC Class AAA First Team. He committed to play for Northeastern Huskies, starting all 31 games as a freshman in the 2019-20 season. He averaged 10.4 points, 3.4 assists, and 2.1 rebounds per game with a shot accuracy of 35.2% from the three-pointer range. He was third in the Colonial Athletic Association in assists and was placed on the CAA All-Rookie Team. During his sophomore 2020-21 season, he helped the team with 18.8 points and 4.8 assists per game, and was named to the CAA First Team and was also the conference's Defensive Player of the Year. After spending two years at Northeastern, he transferred to Michigan State as a junior.
